Cleveland County outdoor attractions are taking extra steps to ensure the safety of their staff and customers during COVID-19. They have implemented new and creative ideas to continue to serve you! You can still get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather as long as you follow the guidance from the Stay at Home order and social distancing guidelines.
The NC DHHS regulations to follow regarding social distancing and proper health etiquette, include maintaining a 6’ distance, not shaking hands, washing hands frequently, and staying home if you feel unwell.
Foothills Public Shooting Complex of Cleveland County is the largest public outdoor shooting complex in the Southeastern United States! The Range is located at 283 Fielding Road, Cherryville NC 28021 – off NC Hwy 150 between Shelby and Cherryville, North Carolina.
Come visit the most unique venue for the shooting sports in Western North Carolina. The venue provides 250 yard covered rifle range, a covered 20 yard pistol range, a covered 50 yard rifle range, a 50 yard multi-use range with a variety of steel targets for handgun caliber firearms, two skeet/trap ranges, 50 yard archery practice area and 3-D archery course. In addition, there is a media ready classroom for 49 students, gift shop, concession area with restrooms, and a staff of Range Safety Officers with experience in all shooting sports.
All ranges are American with Disabilities (ADA) compliant.
All persons must first check in at the range office when visiting Foothills Public Shooting Complex of Cleveland County. Here you will be greeted by our professional staff and get your safety briefing, sign your waiver (under 18, your parent or legal guardian has to sign) and receive your Range ID. While paying for your range time check out the items in our gift shop area.
Foothills Public Shooting Complex was established to meet the following needs:
To provide a safe and modern facility for the public to enjoy the shooting sports
Provide a flexible firearms training area for law enforcement agencies
Educate the public on safe firearms handling and marksmanship with a special emphasis on opportunities for Youth
Provide a safe and convenient alternative as private rural areas safe for target practice diminish as the population grows
Economic development with the goal of hosting local, state, national and international shooting sports competitions
