CURRENTLY CLOSED This beautiful trail was damaged by flooding which damaged the suspension bridge and trails. The City of Shelby has not yet released an estimated time for reopening. Definitely worth a visit when they reopen!
Completed in 2016, Shelby’s growing First Broad River Trail is quickly expanding to offer a wealth of scenic views that tie back into the City’s Historic Uptown District. Beginning at the Twin Trestle Trailhead, the trail’s main entry point features a freshly landscaped 30-acre field and historic train trestle measuring 600 feet long and 60 feet tall. Amenities currently include natural walking trails, parking, benches along the trail, a suspension bridge enjoyed by all ages and canoe/kayak launch.
