Between the Rivers Wine Trail | 2001-76 E. Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152 | 704.482.7882
According to legend, this area of land that lay between the Catawba River and the Broad River was referred to by the Catawba and Cherokee Native American tribes as the Eswau Huppeday--the land between the rivers. These two tribes fought many times over this land, with neither side achieving any clear victory, until they agreed to a permanent peace and treaty to leave this land open for both tribes to hunt and travel. It is easy to see why this fruitful land was so desirable. Taste the fruits, including the native Muscadine, while taking in the beauty of the foothills on the Between the Rivers Wine Trail. Each of the three wineries on this trail include winery tours, wine tasting and a souvenir wine glass from each vineyard for a fee of $5 at each stop. Group tours can be arranged through Tour Cleveland County.
